I'm Back in the Saddle Again!

Our youngest son and last child passed his Drivers Test! He can now drive himself to and fro, which frees me up to have a life once again folks....do I hear a "HEE-HAW!!!!" As I waited for him to finish the test, I tried to sit calmly in the lounge--I failed. Pacing across the room, looking out each and every floor to ceiling window for just a peek of him on the course, my mind raced with thoughts of how quickly time flies! I can still remember holding him the day he was born sixteen years ago. And now suddenly, with a small 2x3 photo ID, he will be licensed to drive....further into independence...and away from me. So I hold him securely in my mind and promise to pray a blessing over him as he continues to grow into the young man God gifted to me!

Yay for driving! Also Yikes!! It makes me feel so old every time I see yet another former baby in our church come driving into the parking lot.

It's good to have you back among the blogging! I can't imagine doing what you are doing.

I celebrate with you!

My 16 (almost 17) year old is studying the book right now. He's about ready to get his learners permit.

I understand your joy. I, too, am looking forward to having my youngest son on wheels. Late tonight...just when I finally finished my work and curled up on the couch...he said he needed a ride to his friend's house to get a Spanish book...so he could do his homework.

I miss when you're gone too long.

I remember the mixed feelings I had when my girls were finally on their own, transportation wise. On the one hand, it's just as you said, a new freedom. But on the other, it takes a while to not worry when they're out with the car.

Wonderful slide show, Diane. This really is a milestone in his life, in all your lives.
