Thankful Thursday

I am thankful today that my dear mother-in-law has returned to the nursing home after a return to the hospital with chest pains following a pace maker surgery. She is feeling much better and her strength is returning. I am so thankful for this reprieve; she is a dear woman who has been through quite a year--it was one year ago this week she suffered a devastating heart attack that has left her with only 40% heart function. In spite of great medical challenges this past year, she has remained a wonderful example to all who love her!

I am thankful for the great day my mom had yesterday with my daughter. I am so thankful for the woman my daughter is! On a rare day off from her demanding, but much loved job as an RN in the NICU, she took her Grandma to a matinee movie (Hair Spray) and then they spent the late afternoon sitting on a bench on Lake Minnetonka. We all joined them at our favorite lake restaurant for an early dinner and had a wonderful time. It was a great day for my mom who has been housebound since her return from the hospital for congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation. She phoned this morning sounding renewed having spent such a lovely afternoon with her granddaughter.

I am thankful for the phone call we just received from Curt's attorney; the Prosecutor has agreed to transfering his case from a criminal case to the Diversion Program. Simply put, he will be required to continue his DBT programming and possibly some community service. If, after 12 months, he remains a law abiding citizen and finishes his Diversion assignments--this charge will disappear--as if it never happened.

I am thankful that our son has been accepted to a DBT program; recommended by my therapist. Last week Monday she asked me if I had contacted ***** ***** Systems, she had done some checking and thought they had an intensive DBT program. That afternoon, we called for an intake meeting which we went to on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. By 10:30 a.m., he had been accepted into the 12-18 month program and began this week Monday!

I am thankful for blogging friends! Yes, either God is there or He isn't.....dear friend! Thanks for the kick in the rear and speaking the truth!

Have a great day filled with thankfulness!

Praise God!!! He is mighty, he is wonderful, he is healing, he is moving, he is A-L-I-V-E and A-T -- W-O-R-K !!!

In a nut shell ... he TRULY IS here and he IS answering prayer!

On another note, my father (71 yrs old) just came home from the hospital last night. He also suffers from atrial fribrulation. I can so hear your heart when you talk about your mom!

Blessings to you, Diane!

I too have a son in Diversion. I have followed your story and rejoice with you at this turn of events. Praise God! We feel so blessed by God's mercy, and pray that our son will see this as a gift and a second chance. I will continue to pray for you, your son and you family as you walk this road.
Blessings,
Michelle

Praise God! This reminds me of a song called Four Days Late. Sometimes when we think God is running late with working things out, He's right on time!! I believe He's listened to our prayers and your son is just where he belongs!
