Not a tackling kind of day

It's Tuesday and normally I would try to post a Tackle It Tuesday post. It's just not a tackling kind of day today. My energy is spent and I feel a certain calm that I do not want to interupt! Today, I will be seeing my therapist and then....it's a day of reading. Have you ever done that? Scheduled a day filled with down-time?

I have agreed to be part of a blog book tour for Mary E. De Muth's new book, Authentic Parenting in a Postmodern Culture. I started reading the first few pages last night and it looks to be a challenging, thought provoking, and relevant read. I'll let you know more the week of August 12th.

When I am not reading, I will be meditating on the Scripture that my new blogging prayer warrior has sent to me: Jeremiah 29:11 states: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." As I awoke this morning early, I checked my emails and read these words, "I am praying Jer.29:11 for your son tonight."

When I am not meditating, I will be praying; thanking God for these words and for this mother and new blogging friend--for all of my blogging friends and known others who are supporting our family during this very fluid time.

And as I'm praying, I will be praying for my first blogging-but- forever-friend, Cindy. Will you do the same, please? She needs our prayer support!

So although I'm not officially tackling anything today--I have a plan--and I'm stickin' to it! Have a great day!

Diane,

Jeremiah 29:11 states: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."... Powerful scripture. I cling to is often.

Hope your week is peaceful and filled with Jesus my friend.

It sounds like a perfect plan to me Diane. I love that verse and pray it over my own family when things don't seem to be going the way we planned.
I, too, am praying His presence and His peace will fill your hearts. I'm also praying God will work in your lives in a mighty way.

Hi Diane - I have been reading and praying with you and for you. I am sorry I haven't commented but my time on the internet is very limited. But know that I am stopping by regularly and you and your are in my prayers.

Now that you mention it, TODAY is my down-day. Quiet, pleasant, just resting in the Lord and visiting my blogging friends. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

My prodigal has been going to Army chapel services every week since he got to boot camp (or so he says). I am praying, praying, praying for God to surround him with GODLY men.
