Tackle It Tuesday

Before?

(What was I thinking!) Perhaps this photo should be on the marketing brochure for Bloggers Anonymous: Step One: Admit my life has become unmanageable!

And, after five hefty bags to Salvation Army, three to the garbage, and two grocery bags of hangers returned to the Dry Cleaners.......

And.....

It was a very good day! My husband walked in and was stunned! Since my daughters wedding, nearly two years ago, we have been living like pack-rats. I used to excuse this mess by saying I was too busy planning such a grand event! Then it was travel, then it was our summer's at the Lake, then it was..........just plain laziness! Forgive me!

So on this Tackle it Tuesday, I have tackled Step One of any good Twelve Step program....Admit! Admit! Admit! "Hello, my name is Diane, and I am a recovering slob who was otherwise busy blogging!"

Still, I have been challenged while blogging! While ignoring the growing piles of "I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-these-clothes", I have been inspired! Who could read Barb's posts on cleaning and not feel the love! Each week as I click over to Tackle It Tuesday, how could I have missed the motivation?! I will continue to blog.....with a grand purpose! I will accept the things I cannot change...and change the things I can! Oh yes, I'll keep blogging, but today, I blog knowing that I can tackle these home projects....one project at a time! THANKS Susan and Janice!

Awesome tackle! Kudos for posting pics. I can admit I'm a slob who would definitely rather blog than clean. :)

"otherwise busy blogging" that made me laugh:)

I'm considering undertaking a journey to see The Wonderful Wizard of Blog to get him to shut down the internet for a weekend so I can get a handle on my garage. I'm sure he'll need me to do something to prove my worthiness, like slay all Urban Legends, but I'm up to the challenge.

Wow! Thanks for showing those before pictures. I wouldn't have believed it. I wish I could get that motivation going. My husband needs to come in and be stunned.

Thanks too for being my cheerleader! The kind words are always so appreciated.

Blogging does get in the way of other stuff, but it's SO MUCH MORE FUN!

You have inspired me to tackle some out of control areas of my house...except I have several of them! Things have just gotten crazy, with two many toys and clutter. Thank you for the inspiration...great job! :)

So, looking at your pictures of cleaning and reading about your cleaning frenzy doesn't count toward me actually cleaning???

Dang it.

I keep hoping if I see enough pictures and read enough blogs where actual cleaning is taking place that my place will get clean by osmosis. Or something like that.

Bummer. ;D

Now you? You did the deed, Diane. Great Job!

Your first before picture? My computer room/spare room/Emmy's nursery looks the same, only WORSE, if you can imagine. It's really and truly not that dirty, just cluttered with STUFF and clothes and things I absolutely have to make some decisions about.

It's not so much the cleaning I dread, it's having to sort through this stuff and find a place for what I really want and need and then make decisions about what to do with the rest of it.

I keep telling myself...SOON...you've got to do something about this mess SOON.

Anyway, good job with your Tackle It, Diane. :-)

Have a great week. You've already got a great start on it.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Great job. I'm inspired - your before picture is neater than my closet is now (I need to get started). It does look very nice.
