TACKLE

It's another snowy day in Minnesota; the kind of snow that makes EVERYTHING difficult to do. Running errands--complicated. Taking the garbage out--wet! Running to the Post Office--dangerous. Forced to sit in my office and look outside at the falling snow, I decided to treat my pouting self to a few moments online. I checked my email and was distracted by a few FaceBook updates. Heading over to Facebook, I discovered a status update by Brandilyn Collins that read, "Homeless Mom and Daughter need help."

I clicked over to the link Brandilyn offered and found a compelling journey, written by a 16 year old Christian girl who is currently sleeping and living in an Oldsmobile with her disabled, widowed mother. Somehow, the 6 inches of snow were no longer a problem.

Katy is blogging about her journey with homelessness. It is compelling; it is a must read.

Titled, Anywhere But Here, her writing touches the readers heart instantly. Although she is 16 years old, she writes with the maturity greater than most. Shoot, I was sitting in my warm house with plenty to eat, complaining about the most recent snowfall.
