THANKFUL THURSDAY

We have so much to be thankful for....don't we?!

I am thankful that the words "optional" and "suggested" mean.....just that. Paper(s) have been completed, accepted, and I am officially done with my first online course. Which reminds me...I am thankful for ONLINE college courses! Try one! They're great!

I am thankful for blogging friends who welcomed my sister to the blogosphere! Thank you for taking the time to click over and leaving a comment. She's tickled pink!

I am thankful for air travel. Later this afternoon, we will be leaving chilly Minnesota and 2 hours later....we'll be in Dallas! We are going to Dallas to spend the Easter weekend with my brother-in-law and his family at our Ranch. These two boys are Minnesota farm boys and yes, it is true, "You can take the boy off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the boy!" Needing land....(music break)....

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in.

.....a couple of years ago we bought some Texas land! It is located about 1 1/2 hours outside of Dallas in a small town that I can't remember the name of just now. There is Smith's General Store/gas station where we can buy our staples and enjoy the best hamburger and homemade pies anywhere in the world! For our afternoon shopping extravaganza, we can walk across the street to "The Mad Cow!" And should I need a hair cut, I can go two stores down to "Curl Up 'N Dye." What more could a girl ask for!

But most of all, I am thankful that "the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." (John 1:14) As we enter this Holy Season, let me share with you an amazing song sung by David Phelps (it's been in my sidebar: Music for My Ears this week). Click on the video below and turn up the volume! Let's get some real gratitude started blogging friends.....our Jesus is alive!

The End.....of the Beginning!

"And I believe that this is true: His death wasn’t the end but the beginning of life that’s completed in you.
Don’t you see, He did all this for you..."

I'm part of an amazing blog called BoomerBabesRock at http://boomerbabesrock.com/blog and I thought about you when I talked to Allison, the founder of that blog. She's writing a new book for parents of prodigals. It's a heart book, and also a "hard" book as she lives out some tough experiences with her own much-loved prodigal. I hope you check out the blog, and connect with Allison. You may find a new friend. I certainly love this amazing author and woman.

Amen Sister!!

How am I suppose to get any work done (while I'm at work) - when all I can do is have "a little church service" at my desk every 10 minutes with David Phelps. Amen to the gift God gave this man. WOW - Thanks for sharing.

Love you - Dixie

I love the video. Hope you don't mind, I borrowed it for myspace page. HOpe you have a blessed Easter weekend and enjoy that wide open country. You reminded me of the show Dallas, LOL. PT2006 went to Bible college in Waxahachie. Is that the town?

Girl---- how awesome! Thank you for sharing that with Me. The end of the beginning--I can praise on that one until I meet Him face to face!
BTW--I have a 17 year old prodigal. Bring then up in the way they should go and in the end they will NOT depart from it. So thankful for the word. It is my rock.

Okay Diane,

You are slacking. I'm trying to post to Groovy Old Lady's blog after she posted to mine. My response to her ended up on my blog and not hers. I'm confused - and you're off to Texas playing Cowgirl - well!!! FINE!!

Groovy Old Lady - if you're here on Diane's site today - this was my response to you:

Hello!

I'm not even sure what your first name is. I only know you as Groovy Old Lady - but that works!

Thank you for checking out my site and for responding. You seem like a wonderful person.

And how true! The candy will be on sale next week (probably at 75% off) - but I'm going to stay away from the Robin Eggs!

Make it a great Easter, and enjoy the family. I'll try to post some pictures next week of the kids in their Easter best!
