Mortified Monday!

Mortified? I'm mortified that I even have this word in my vocabulary! Still, although it most definitely hints at my age, it is also an appropriate word, describing perfectly the frenzy of life I find myself in!

Spinning, swirling, reaching to catch up with my own life! What a mess!

I have just now finished the mounds of laundry from our Spring Break trip. Nothing has been put away, however, the stacks are neatly folded in my laundry room, waiting to be repacked for our Easter get-away to Dallas--we leave on Thursday.

I missed a deadline: I have mentioned that I am a non-traditional college student and am currently taking an online course: Family Systems, Structures and Relationships. My syllabus suggested an April 1st deadline for an optional paper. Note: I used the words "suggested" and "optional paper." To this mid-life momma, these words translate....get that extra credit paper done by April 1st...you fool!"
I did not. Today, I will submit this paper rather sheepishly, right after I finish this post. Blogging, after all, is my first priority! Did I hear the word, "Fool!"

A few weeks ago, I discovered a blog that will critique other blogs. Sound fun? I thought so! All I needed to do was send him my blog address, link his blog to my post and he promised to critique my blog. He did, I didn't. I feel ashamed! I believe completely in good blogging etiquette, so, while just a little late (there's that deadline phobia!)....here's the link kind sir! Thank you for your fabulous critique and your outstanding blog service to many!

I have yet to "pay it forward" from the really nice Blogging "Thinkers Award" I have received. I will. But in an effort to redeem my self-respect, I must first, get that optional paper submitted. Who am I kidding, I need to write it first and then I will submit it--a day late from the suggested deadline. Geesh! Anyone out there have any ideas for a paper on Family and Couple Maps?

May your Monday be mortify-free! I've got enough of that energy going on around here for all of us!

Oh, you busy, busy lady!! I'm sure the nontrads take that "optional" word as gospel, unless they're failing and need extra credit. I know you're going for an A+++.

The critic seemed to be a bit underwhelmed and unimpressed by my blog, so I was a bit disappointed in what he said. It was pretty blah and lukewarm. Oh, well!

Sounds like your life is as hectic this week as mine was last week! Anyway, I also gave you the Thinking Bloggers Award! You TOTALLY deserve it!

But optional still does mean optional. Although, at this stage in my life, I probably would have felt like a fool, too! ;-)

Those blogging priorities! LOL!

Well, the trend seems these days to have the bloggy critiqued. I've avoided doing that for fear of what he might say and crush my oh-so delicate ego. But maybe I'll do it anyway. My ego hasn't been crushed in, say...a whole 5 hours or so. ;-)

Oh - that sounds so much like me... I actually thought that this time of our lives would be lived rather leisurely!! Ha!! I often have that same "running to catch up with myself" feeling.
I understand perfectly. Just take a deep breath and get the paper done. The rest of the stuff will be waiting.
I'm sorry I can't give you any brilliant ideas. I don't have a clue what all that stuff is about:)
I can pray for you though - and I will.

Oops...I'm facing a few deadlines this week as well and I decided to take the pressure off and just get busy. Blessings to you and thank you for your very kind words. BTW, I've always liked what you titled your blog!

How did your paper turn out? I'd love to read it! Send it to me as an e-mail attachment!

When I hear the word mortified, I always think of the scripture that tells me to mortify the deeds of my flesh. Kill the flesh, make sure it is dead. I believe that is the meaning of the word. It is also the root word for mortician. Guess that means we must all have a second vocation if we are going to live holy.

I was mortified on the anniversary getaway when I tried my Room 5 key in Room 3's door. Room 3 with the BIG "Do Not Disturb" sign on it. Eeek.
