"Ring and Run"

Every year on May 1st, a dear friend of mine, drives up my driveway, hangs a basket of flowers on my door, rings the bell....and races back to her car to speed out of my surburban drive with the hope of disappearing before I answer the doorbell! As I open the door to see a glimpse of her tail lights....I smile. It's my annual May Basket! Yes, while my long surburban drive has complicated it a bit, but the age-old tradition of "Ring and Run" on May 1st endures.....

Today, because blogger was acting up all-day yesterday, I am sending these flowers to brighten your day, to celebrate springtime and the month of May!

I so truly love those little random blessings...

Thanks for sharing it with us.

I pray May 2006 brings blessings, favor, growth, and renewal for us in each day.

When I was a little girl in Omaha, my friend and I used to do that. It was fun.

Those are beautiful flowers in your picture.

What a wonderful idea! I just might have to try that next year. Do you know how it started and why?

They are beautiful, thanks :-) You made me laugh at the visualisation of your friend running away before you opened your door, LOL! (What a wonderful friend) :-)

I can remember doing the "ring and run" when I was a kid. My sister and I would make May Baskets for some of our neighbors and deliver them to them by way of the "ring and run". I didn't think it was done anymore. What a blessing that it is in your life!! I know that has to be refreshing and uplifting to receive that gift each year.
