A Post for my nephew-in-law, for Emily's husband and for all of our young men and women in service today.

Hearts are heavy now, dear Lord
For WAR is looming there.
Our prayers are calling out to you,
Our thoughts too much to bear.
Be with our loved ones--THEY NEED YOU.
Guide them, lead them, see them through.
Bless our leader, for we know,
He asks Your blessings, and needs them so.
Protect the innocent, shield their lives,

As bombs and missiles streak the skies.
Open our hearts and fill us with grace,
Guard our loved ones in that place.
This I say, in earnest prayer,
THANK YOU LORD
I know YOU'RE there.

I hope you each have a great Memorial Day! Drive safely! And keep praying for our soldiers near and far; and for their families who remain at home. We are grateful for their sacrifices. God Bless each soldier, God Bless their families and God Bless America!

Beautiful post!!! Thank you for this, being a military wife I know first hand how thankful my husband and the other troops are to everyone who supports them and continues to think of them.

You always have such uplifting posts, I just love reading your blog :)

Thanks,

With Whitney in Marine Boot Camp, this memorial day is special. I am a part of the local Marine Mothers support group. You would not believe the reports we get. Most of it never shows up on the national news...I think it would contradict what they are saying about our troops over there. Thank you for the prayer...Cheryl

I agree with the last comment. Though I don't have anyone in the military, I read occasional stories, buried deep within the newspaper so you aren't likely to find it, about the progress in Iraq and the optimism of the people, and the kindness of our troops to the children, etc. I wish someone would step up and make it front page news!

Sometimes people take for granted what others have done and continue to do to ensure freedom around the world. Soldiers and their families should be an inspiration to everyone everywhere.

Very nicely said, Diane.
